How to have an amazing day from the beginning

We all have off days sometimes. But there's always room for great days as well. I'm going to give you my best tips for having the most wonderful day possible.

Enjoy xo.

1) Mindset is everything

Every moment of the day, your brain is working and processing information, so why not spend the hours awake giving your brain good things to take in? One way you can do this is your mindset. I'm sure you've seen or heard the words "change your mindset" before, and I'm not going to sit here and tell you to change it. However, you always have the power to do so.

Now, this is sometimes easier said than done, especially when you're focused on something while in a bad mindset. Sometimes you may think it's impossible to change your mindset about something, but I'm here to tell you that it is possible. Here's an example:

You wake up and look outside. The first thing you see are clouds and rain. Perhaps you despise rainy days and maybe it's the third rainy day in a row. The first thing you think is "ugh really? Another rainy day? This is going to put me in such a bad mood, I hate rainy days". This is one way to see it. Or, you can change your mindset and think "this is a great opportunity to finish that book I was reading and to catch up on work. The rain will also water my plants and flowers outside". Whatever it may take, a quick small change like this can seriously brighten your entire day.

2) Being grateful and mindful

When you wake up, list 5 things you're grateful for either out loud, in your head or even in a journal, whether they're big or small. This can be when you're doing skincare, making breakfast, getting dressed, really whenever you'd like. Throughout your day, if you continue the effort of finding things you're grateful for, you are subconsciously or possibly consciously (depending on if you notice it or not) being more mindful. This is a great habit to get into. Being present and mindful can really open your eyes to all the good there is around us in life.

3) Nourish your body

I know this may be a very obvious one, but it's a good mention either way. One of the very important elements in our day is what we eat and put into our body. Eat yummy food. Drink yummy drinks. This doesn't meant to eat unhealthy type food and drink sugary drinks all day, and this also doesn't mean to just eat vegetables and drink water all day. Try to find a balance between the two. Balance is key. Good food = a good mood.

4) Listen to music

Right now, think about that one artist or song that pumps you up. The one that you can put on anytime and dance to. Listen to that. Compile a playlist of songs that give that effect and blast them whenever you can. Personally, this boosts my mood so so much.

5) Write

For some people, journaling can be a hard thing to do or may not be that enjoyable. Sometimes it's just a hard thing to get into. Nonetheless, I recommend trying to write down something on a piece of paper or in a journal, whether that be your feelings about something or a thought in your head, it can be pretty much anything on your mind. It can help get thoughts and stress out of your brain and onto paper which helps clear your mind of unneeded clutter.

6) Add a new step into your routine

This can vary between many things. Maybe you can add a little workout somewhere into your daily routine, or even something little like a new skincare step. Whatever it may be, make it something you enjoy. This can give you something new to look forward to in your daily life.

7) Go somewhere

Something that can improve your day so much is going out somewhere. That could be to a cafe with a friend, to the mall, to a nice place in nature, or even for a walk around your neighbourhood. Wherever brings you the most joy, go there. Make it somewhere you know you'll be able to get to. Spend time in your favourite place (or places) for a bit of time during the days you can. Extra points if you go with people who bring you good company.
